Captain
David Tropf
Born and raised in Northern Michigan’s Leelanau County, David grew up immersed in a beloved hunting and fishing culture. From a young age, fishing has been an intrinsic way of life for David. Growing up on his father’s charter fishing boat as first mate, David was privileged to live his love of fishing and share it with so many individuals throughout the years. Since making Leelanau County his permanent home once again, David has made fishing and hunting—which has long been his passion—his career.
Fly Fishing
David greatly enjoys the added elements of difficulty fly fishing adds to pursuing anything with fins. He is a well rounded angler who is on the water almost year round. Fly fishing travel regularly takes David to the warm, shallow waters of the Bahamas, West to Montana or East to Pennsylvania.
Hunting
David is also a passionate hunter. During the fall months, he pursues ruffed grouse and woodcock in Michigan, as well as prairie birds and big game in the west.
